Groups and Visits
Thursday Group
The Thursday Group is a 'just in case' project.
It is a focus for patients leaving the wards and for people who hesitate about using day centres and drop-ins recognised by statutory services and the independent sector. The group welcomes carers and workers, more so if they bring a family member or a patient with them.
The group is comfortable and sympathetic. Formality is left outside it's door.
Tuesday Group
Following on from the success of the Thursday Group and from a number of requests Threads is to run a pilot 'Tuesday Group' for 12 weeks every Tuesday from 2pm - 4pm. The first meeting will held be on the 27th March 2007
Ward Visits
Threads makes fortnightly visits to wards C1 & C2 at Rotherham General Hospital. They take place on Sunday & Wednesday afternoons between 2 & 4 pm. The primary purpose of the visits is to meet and talk to patients and provide a name and face that is available after they leave the wards.
Threads also collects the concerns of inpatients about the service they recieve and passes them on to the service manager. This is done confidentially and sympathetically.
